    Cert IV Massage Therapy

Director Positive Pain Solutions Pty Ltd

Having experienced several years of back pain in my mid-teens to mid-20's, the frustration of seeking many different treatments without any long term results lead me to complete my own study and formulate a treatment modality that really works for the relief of chronic pain.....Finch Therapy

My original training was in massage, graduating from the Australian College of Natural Medicine (ACNM) with a Diploma of Remedial Massage Therapy. An additional 18 months full time study was undertaken focusing on fitness and musculoskeletal rehabilitation.

Since the late 1990's I have owned and operated a private Brisbane practice with my main focus on musculoskeletal pain and rehabilitation, specialising in correcting faulty postural alignment and the treatment of chronic pain. During these years I have conducted exercise classes combining postural alignment retraining, flexibility and strength for post injury rehabilitation and chronic pain sufferers.

With the successful results of Finch Therapy, I now teach Doctors, Physiotherapists, massage therapist and other manual therapists.

For those suffering from chronic pain, I understand how it feels and hope to work with you to ease your pain.

Lisa has been a Remedial Massage Therapist since 2001. Nine years in her own
business, three years at a clinic near the PA hospital and now at Positive
    Pain Solutions.

She treats with a multi-modality approach having studied: Sports massage, deep tissue, structural aligning, orthobionomy, cross fibre mobilisation, shiatsu, Chinese acupressure, aromatherapy, manual lymph drainage, Swedish massage, and of course Finch Therapy.

REMEDIAL MASSAGE- Lisa’s treatments are very much adapted to the individual based on their reasons for treatment, presenting symptoms, pain levels and preferences for pressure and style. Most of her treatment techniques are aimed at achieving the greatest results with the least amount of pain. Lisa believes working WITH the body achieves greater and more lasting results than painfully and forcefully working against it.

MANUAL LYMPH DRAINAGE (MLD)- As an extremely gentle, slow and rhythmic therapy, MLD is excellent in circumstances where other massage would be too painful.

    MLD treatment is useful for:

    · Swelling, fluid retention, enhance lymphatic system function, fibromyalgia, skincare and cosmetic surgery recovery.
    · Post injury- to reduce swelling, speed healing and recovery, reduce pain.
    · Breast care- reduction of pain and swelling. pre-menstrual symptoms, during and after pregnancy, after breast cancer.
    · Calming the nervous system- helps reduce the effects of anxiety and stress, relieve chronic pain, improve sleep.
